Y KP Pillai Curry Inn
I finally get to taste the nasi briyani that I've been longing to eat. The Briyani "Affair" with Adrian!! =P

Surprisingly, there wasn't much queue at the stall. Was quite skeptical if that was the one. We walked through the whole stretch and that was the only stall selling nasi briyani, so it must be the one.

Smells so nice. Mmmm.... Our stomachs were already making lots of noises while queueing.

Finally... Savouring our nasi briyani. Here's our take:

Me: The rice is nice!!
Adrian: Ok leh, not that fantastic.
Me: I think it's nice.
Adrian: The curry is really nice.
Me: The rice is fragrant too.
Adrian: I think the rice is not yellow enough.
Me: But with the curry, it's really nice!!
Adrian: Yeah true. But I don't like the rice.
Me: Why? I like it!!
Adrian: Too small grain. Not sticky enough.
Me: That's exactly what I like about the rice. I like small grains & the fact that they don't stick together.
Adrian: I still prefer rice that are big & a little sticky.

Adrian had curry chicken while I had fried chicken. I like the chicken. It was well marinated. Despite having drumstick, the meat wasn't tough. I didn't have a hard time trying to eat the chicken.

Adrian's curry chicken

The achar tasted so so to me. I'm not a fan of achar. Or rather, I don't really like achar. So... Haha..

  • Y Green Tea Chocolate Cupcakes
Chocolates~ I finally had a taste of chocolates after being forced to eat vegetables for so long. Feel so deprived of the best luxuries in life - FOOD. It feels so GRRRREEEEAAT!!

One of my colleagues, Weylin, baked cupcakes for us. How nice!! They look too preeeetty to be eaten.

The box of cupcakes. 14 in total.

The green cream on top is green tea flavoured (yeah of course. It's GREEN!!). I didn't know it's green tea until I smelled it when I took my first bite. Oh yes, there's a lovely little rose on top of the spiralling cream.

    Pretty?

First bite: I aimed at the chocolatey part. Tastes good. I didn't feel like I was going to have diabetes soon. In fact, it tastes just nice to me. Though the cake feels a little dry, I still think it's good!! All thanks to the taste.

Second bite: Aimed the green tea cream. Tastes good as well!! It's not sweet too. The aroma of green tea is so alluring. And did I mention it's light? Yes I know, cream is fattening. But who can resist something good? =P

The lovely cupcake after my disgusting bites.

Ooooohhh~ The cupcake still lingers in my mind....

  • Y Wah Kee Noodle
Waaahhh... That lazy pig Xinzhong actually came here to lunch with Peiwen & I!! To show our appreciation, we brought him to eat his favourite food - Wanton Mee. And we heard that the wanton mee at Amoy Street Market & Food Centre is one of the better ones around.

    THE wanton mee

We reached level 2 of the food centre & found a table within 5 minutes. As the only guy, Xinzhong was made to queue for our wanton mee. =P The queue wasn't short, but it didn't make our stomachs growl in anger.

The noodles tasted good. Better than the one downstairs. But they were a little dry, and I had to add some soup to them. The vegetables were bitter!! I felt like I was taking medicine. Yucks...

    Wanton soup

As someone who doesn't really like pork, I actually liked the taste of the wanton and char siew. They didn't have the kind of "porky taste" which I hate so much.

    Char siew

    Wanton

It would be better if they vegetables weren't so bitter. Peiwen & I thought the wanton mee was nice and acceptable, but Xinzhong felt it wasn't up to his standards. It tasted normal to him. Well, he's very very particular about food quality. =)

  • Y Gavottes Orange Flavoured Crispy Brittany Crepes
First post. I hope my future posts will not be too wordy to bore everyone. Just straight to the point. =)

This is great for chocolate lovers. Mmmm...

At the first look, I thought it was something like Tim Tams. When I took my first bite, I realised it wasn't. It's light, crispy & has a slight hint of orange flavour. It feels like love letters (the ones we eat during Chinese New Year) that are coated with chocolate.

    Looks like Tim Tams eh?

Did I mention it's dark chocolate? Yeah, it is. So, there's no sugar overdose. For some chocolates, you won't feel like taking a second bite after you took your first. This chocolate crepe just leaves you screaming, "I want more!!!"

    It's hollow inside.

The box is pretty. & it's a metal box. It will make a presentable gift.

It feels light, so don't be fooled by it. It doesn't feel fattening or sinful, and you will tend to eat more. I don't want to be responsible for the extra calories you've put on!! *winks*
